Faithful Place - Tana French

I wasn't sure I was going to like the narrator of this, the third book in the series but boy was I wrong. The story was well told as usual. Also, for folks that don't want to do the "series" thing, each book can totally stand alone since they are all told from a different person's point of view and involve a different case.

In the Woods - Tana French

This book, the first in the series, had me hooked. I enjoyed the setting of Dublin and the gripping story but most of all I like that I didn't figure it all out half way through like so many other books. Well done.

The Likeness - Tana French

The Dublin Murder Squad has become quite the group and this book is definitely my favorite so far. I love that each book is from another character's point of view and a totally different case. I mystery stays a mystery up to the climax which makes this book one you can't put down.

Horns - Joe Hill

Joe Hill is definitely following in the footsteps of his famous daddy, Stephen King. Where to these guys get these ideas?? I love the way the book flips between time frames but it does give away a lot of the mystery really early. I am looking forward to seeing more from Joe as he grows as a writer.

Dziewczyna z pociÄ…gu - Paula Hawkins

Not quite up to the "Gone Girl" standard of twists and turns but it does keep you guessing. Even when you figure it out, it still holds your attention to see how it will come out. The ending is a bit too neatly wrapped but I won't spoil it.

Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn

This book will make you question everyone around you! Ever time you think you know where it is going it takes a sharp left and you wonder how you didn't see it coming. I loved it to the end.

Life After Life - Kate Atkinson

I love alternate time-line stories and this is an ultimate one. Each time she is re-born the time-line is totally different. I wish we could get "do-overs" like this for real.

A Sudden Light: A Novel - Garth Stein

A great tale of family relations and how mixed up they can get. The characters are quirky but believable. I really interesting rollercoaster ride of a book.

The Art of Racing in the Rain - Garth Stein

What a great book, even my 20 year old son, who has better things to do than read a book, loved it. The story grabs you and makes you stay up all night to find out what happens.

Help for the Haunted - John Searles

I was hoping to get really into this book since the premise is so interesting but it really dragged. It was a bit too slow moving and the ending was just out of left field.
